The primary focus of managerial oversight is to ensure that the Investigations Officer receives the necessary guidance and support to ensure that results are delivered in accordance with the vision set forward by the leadership of the Section and Investigations Service; and that the Investigations Officer is able to develop their investigative skills so as to be able to evolve in their investigation career.Under the overall guidance of the Deputy Director of Investigations and the direct supervision of the Chief of the Strategy, Intake & Analysis Unit, the Investigations Officer will be a key member of the team responsible for planning and conducting investigations (in both the English and French languages) of allegations of fraud, abuse of authority, mismanagement, harassment, sexual misconduct and/or retaliatory actions in or affecting UNICEF.The Investigations Officer will also provide support to the day-to-day operational and specialized activities of the investigation function, to enhance the smooth running of the supervisor’s work and the section’s operations.NOTE: This post has the possibility of remote/home-based modality, reporting to the New York-based Chief of the Strategy, Intake & Analysis Unit. The position will require travel to UNICEF locations, often in difficult duty stations.  Duty travel for those working remotely outside of the designated duty station is subject to certain applicable restrictions.
