This role will provide operational & administrative support to the GI Operations Office under intermittent supervision. This role will support the needs of our office and research staff by submitting work orders, answering phones and directing questions to the proper teams, issuing safety equipment for field researchers, initiating key requests, assisting staff who have been locked out of their offices, assisting teams with designing their space to accommodate new hires, and helping staff to stay safe by communicating safety regulations and practices and following up on compliance, amongst other operations work as the needs arise. Resource Conservation Recovery Act Specialist in Fairbanks
The UAF Environmental Support Services unit will provide developmental planning and environmental services to Fort Wainwright in accordance with the recently signed Intergovernmental Support Agreement (IGSA). One of the required services in accordance with the agreement is a dedicated full-time professional to conduct Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Waste (HW) program support operations and to ensure all required activities and sources are properly permitted and in compliance with applicable regulations.The RCRA Specialist will be the subject matter expert for the team and provide knowledge in areas of Resource Conservation Recovery Act Hazardous Waste support services. This person will assist in the development of plans and tasks to ensure compliance in support of Ft. Wainwright and support field workers needed.
