Resident Advisors (RAs) work to ensure that each resident feels safe and at home. This is done in several ways. Next, RAs help to achieve a sense of community through creative and interactive means, including engaging with residents through unique programming experiences, facilitating interaction and idea sharing, infusing academic support and educational opportunities into the on-campus living experience and through the design of thoughtful, personalized hall decorations and bulletin boards. Ground Station Operator in Fairbanks
The Alaska Satellite Facility (ASF) is searching for a talented and dedicated staff member to act as Ground Station Operator for the ASF antennas. As an ASF Ground Station Operator, the candidate will be expected to manage and control the antenna systems. This includes monitoring the systems in real-time to identify anomalies and the appropriate corrective action to ensure sensitive data is not lost. This may include processing, ingesting, archiving, and distributing data. Experience with operating special-purpose digital electronics and terrestrial antenna control systems is preferred. Additionally, knowledge of communication systems, diagnostic techniques, complex computer systems, platforms, applications, and data communications is helpful. Candidates must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and capable of working within a dynamic, results-oriented, environment.
