Band 7 – Starting from $108,545.62 + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full-time 38 hours per week only)

About the Role
As the First Peoples Employment Pathways Advisor, you will play a key role in increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment, retention and career development across the organisation. You will lead employment-related initiatives within our Reconciliation Action Plan, develop targeted attraction strategies, build partnerships with community and external stakeholders, and create meaningful pathways into employment at Yarra City Council.
Working closely with leaders and employees, you will provide expert advice on culturally informed recruitment, retention and professional development practices, identify and remove barriers to participation, and help foster a safe, inclusive and culturally safe workplace. Through strong stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement and data-driven insights, you will contribute to positive employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a candidate with experience with First Peoples communities and proven understanding of talent and workforce strategies to help deliver outcomes in improving the employment outcomes for First Peoples. This may include a tertiary qualification in HR or related field, strong connections with a broad range of Indigenous communities and experience in supporting a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
