This unit also provides progressive patient and family teaching in preparation for discharge to home. We work collaboratively with our therapy team to provide outstanding patient care and results.

Our patient population includes Med/Surg patients along with our specialty services of Trauma, ENT, and GYN patients.

6A Medicine Pulmonary is a unique medicine unit caring for patients with a wide variety of medical conditions including pulmonary, cardiac, renal, endocrine and more. 6A features the capability to accommodate up to 12 Med/Surg patients on cardiac monitoring and up to 3 patients requiring care on ventilators, as well as provide specialty infusions to patients with pulmonary hypertension. Nurses are cross trained to provide care on a separate secure unit as well, gaining additional knowledge of chemotherapy administration, one-day stay and ambulatory care for patients in custody.
