    • School of Cyber & Decision Sciences - Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity in San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus

      The SC&DS seeks a full-time assistant professor to join a growing and dynamic faculty team. CSUSB's cutting edge Cybersecurity program prepares students to address the cybersecurity issues and concerns faced today in many corporate and government environments. The foundation of our Cybersecurity program consists of imparting the skills required to succeed along with a combination of technical skills, policy, teamwork, ethics, and professionalism. In 2022, the Cyber program successfully renewed the NSA/DHS designation of Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). Since receiving the CAE-CD designation, the Center for Cyber and AI has secured a portfolio of $85m in grants and scholarships focused on the cyber workforce. The ideal candidate for this position must have knowledge, skill, and interest in teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence offered by the SC&DS at CSUSB main campus and at Palm Desert. Candidates having a combination of both theory/research and applied/hands-on teaching experiences in the areas of Cybersecurity Management, Ethical hacking - SCADA/IOT, Forensics, Incident Response, applied AI, and hold Industry recognized certifications such as Security+, CISSP, etc. are a plus. A deep understanding of the Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber program as well as the critical workforce frameworks (Department of Defense Cyber Workforce Framework, NIST 800-181) is important for the candidate. Experience working with US Government partners in cyber defense is also desired. The successful candidate will also be expected to advise students, serve on Department, College and University Committees, contribute to and participate in the life and strategic priorities of the SC&DS, and engage in the broader University disciplinary communities.

The Hourly Interpreter position will provide on-site interpreting services for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and/or Deaf-Blind students in: classrooms, lectures, labs, assigned course activities, placements, internships; in meetings with other academic departments, advisors, professors, university platform situations, telephone interpreting for academically related needs; provide limited mobility assistance for Deaf-Blind students, and voice for students, as needed. This position is temporary, on call.

    • Building Service Engineer in East Bay

      The Building Service Engineer completes independent and on-going performance of maintenance and repair work on a wide range of heating, ventilating, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, air conditioning, and water systems. Building Service Engineers perform work on complex refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Under general supervision, the Building Service Engineer (BSE) independently performs ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repair on a wide range of campus mechanical systems, including heating, ventilating, plumbing, electrical (as related to HVAC), refrigeration/air-conditioning, and water systems. Uses the campus building automation system (BAS) to diagnose issues, adjust setpoints/schedules, and optimize comfort and energy use; responds to service requests; tests and chemically treats boiler/condenser/cooling-tower water; and maintains logs and records in the campus CMMS (TMA). May rotate through central plant and building utility rooms and may provide instruction to semi-skilled staff. Responds to campus emergencies as essential personnel.

The successful candidate may be required to teach courses at both the San Bernardino and Palm Desert Campuses.

      This position performs and assists in backstage technical operations for University Theatre events, including lighting, sound, rigging, carpentry, and general stage production support. Aids in mounting departmental productions and servicing external events by constructing and setting up technical systems such as scenery, props, and effects. Supports backstage and shop operations, helps train and guide student assistants in the safe and proper use of equipment and materials, and ensures facilities and equipment are maintained. Performs related duties as assigned.
