Director of Development, Planned Giving (Administrator II) in Chico
The Director of Development, Planned Giving is the University’s lead strategist and frontline fundraiser for planned and deferred gifts. This role builds, grows, and sustains a comprehensive program that advances long-term philanthropic priorities. As a senior member of the Development team, the Director focuses on securing estate commitments and other deferred gifts, generating at least $2 million annually in documented commitments. The position emphasizes donor education, legacy society stewardship, strategic marketing, and close collaboration with colleagues to integrate planned giving into the University’s overall fundraising strategy. Although titled Director of Development, this role does not manage a traditional major gift portfolio. Instead, it serves as the University’s subject-matter expert and primary driver of planned giving strategy, cultivation, and execution. Why Chico State?
