    Lecturer Pool - Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies AY 2026/27 in San Marcos

    The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis for our pool of part-time lecturers for courses in Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies. Please visit our department website to find out more about our curricular mission. Salary is commensurate with credential and experience. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.  Applications in this pool ad will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st.  If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15th.

    Lecturer - AIS 230: American Indian Art and Contemporary Issues (Fall 2026) in San Marcos

    The Department of American Indian Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach Lecturer- AIS 230: Contemporary Issues in American Indian Art. The course introduces contemporary issues in American Indian art including but not limited to issues of cultural authenticity and ownership, legal foundations to protect American Indian artwork and artists, cultural misappropriation and theft (e.g. pot-hunting), and (mis)representation in the marketplace. Develops critical reading skills to analyze the social, material, and cultural context that informs artistic production a result of cultural contact in various historical periods.

    The Department of Social Work seeks a temporary Full-Time Practicum Liaison/Lecturer to support our new Extended MSW program for working professionals. The Extended MSW program is in its third year of operation and offers courses that are mostly online on weekday evenings, with monthly in-person class sessions. The Practicum Liaison position is a temporary, twelve-month, full-time lecturer appointment reporting to the Practicum Director. The Practicum Liaison is expected to: teach practicum classes, work with agency supervisors to maintain and develop practicum placements within the social work community; and manage and supervise students conducting practicum work for all MSW students.
