Fundamental ideas to be introduced include evolution, biological molecules, genetics, physiology, and ecology. The scientific principles will be covered from a conceptual viewpoint at a level suitable for non-science majors.

Facilities Maintenance Mechanic in San José
The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic in the Energy and Utilities unit works independently or as part of a team under the Utilities Operations Supervisor. This skilled generalist uses journey-level mechanical or plumbing skills, along with expertise in other trades, to perform preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction, and renovation on utility systems. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment for steam heating, chilled water, drainage, water distribution, and fire alarm/security networks to ensure a clean, safe campus. The mechanic also uses a computerized maintenance system for preventive tasks.
