Department of Music - Assistant Professor in San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
To lead our Bachelor of Music undergraduate program in Music Therapy as program director and professor. This position will include program development, as our program is in its initial stages, as well as liaison responsibilities with sites (and practitioners) in the Inland Empire and San Bernardino County that provide music therapy. This position is thus both student-facing and community-facing, and will involve student advising and recruiting responsibilities, as well as oversight for music therapy clinical fieldwork and internships. Along with teaching and program-building, this position also supports active involvement in research and professional scholarship. TYPICAL ACTIVITIES • Lead and continue to develop CSUSB’s new BA in Music Therapy program • Develop the BA in Music Therapy curriculum as needed • Teach undergraduate courses in music therapy, as well as additional courses in the Department of Music as needed • Recruit and advise all music therapy students • Coordinate and supervise internships and clinical fieldwork in music therapy • Serve as liaison with clinical supervisors and internship site supervisors, creating and maintaining these relationships • Attend all department faculty meetings and serve on departmental, college, and university committees • Maintain membership in the American Music Therapy Association • Maintain active involvement in research and professional scholarship • Other duties as assigned Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.
