    Bates College is partnering with Educate Maine to offer a registered apprenticeship program for individuals looking to gain experience and build a career in facilities maintenance as a Plumber. This is a full-time, year-round position in which apprentices are paid employees of Bates College. Opportunities to work part-time during the school year and full time upon graduation may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Those who successfully complete their apprenticeship will continue their employment at Bates College as an experienced plumber and will have completed the requirements set by the applicable state board and may sit for the State Journeyman test.

    Advancement Communications and Marketing Specialist - Part-Time in Lewiston, ME

    A member of the Bates Communications and Marketing (BCM) team who works in lockstep with colleagues in the Office of College Advancement, the part-time Advancement Communications and Marketing Specialist will shape and execute a strategic communications vision for Bates College’s advancement efforts. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Communications and Marketing, the specialist will work to align and integrate messaging, branding, communication and marketing of advancement programs with the intent of growing alumni engagement and cultivating a culture of philanthropy. Serving as a key liaison between BCM and Advancement, the specialist will implement a strategic, comprehensive approach to communications that spans alumni engagement, annual giving, leadership giving, gift planning, stewardship, corporate and foundation relations, parent programs and more, ensuring a cohesive and impactful narrative across all initiatives.     Assistant Men's Soccer Coach in Lewiston, ME

    The Assistant Coach is responsible for aiding the Head Coach in administering a competitive NCAA Division III intercollegiate program.  This position supports the development of student-athletes through mentorship, guidance, leadership opportunities, community building, and a commitment to social justice.  The Assistant Coach focuses primarily in the areas of planning and directing recruitment, training, conditioning and performance of student-athletes, along with fiscal management of the program.  This is a professional assistant coaching position, and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of affiliated national, regional, and state intercollegiate athletic associations, the NCAA, the NESCAC Conference, and the College.  Assistant coaches work in partnership with the Office of Admission in order to recruit, admit, and enroll an academically and athletically talented and diverse class of students.  The position will assist with various recruitment projects assigned according to previous experiences and program needs. The Assistant Coach will have significant night and weekend commitments.  This position reports to the Head Coach.

    The Senior Assistant Dean of the Faculty for Operations is a professional level position that manages the core operations of the Dean of Faculty’s office, working closely with faculty and staff across a range of areas essential to the academic mission of the College. The core operations include faculty budgets, lab and office space across campus, the mechanics of faculty and staff hiring and of tenure and promotion, academic support staff, administering faculty visas, and operational support for Dean of Faculty events and activities.  The position supports the supervision of approximately 35 academic staff, serves in an operational capacity in campus teaching and learning structures, and collaborates with Facility Services to inform faculty and academic staff of maintenance and other physical issues regarding academic buildings.

Fostering the development of student staff through engaged and affirming mentorship and supporting residents in responding to the developmental opportunities of the college environment are areas of focus, in addition to overseeing traditional programming and other residential community building initiatives.
