Staff holding a cook position primarily work in student dining providing approximately 5000 meals per day to the students, faculty, staff and guests of the college who dine in Commons. They are also called upon to prepare items for catered events as needed. As such, this position calls for someone who is able to safely, efficiently and consistently produce and present food in a high volume setting. A focus on providing outstanding customer service and exemplary organizational and time management skills are a must. This position may be considered “Essential Personnel” in the event that: An emergency occurs on the Bates campus or in the vicinity that would impact Bates. Inclement weather forces the closing of campus. Or other emergency events deemed appropriate.
