We are seeking an Engineering Associate II to join our team! You will serve a primary role in developing conceptual designs and project scopes to improve the existing LCRA Transmission Services Corporation’s system, as well as supporting interconnection of a dynamic and growing mix of resources on the ERCOT grid. Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in electrical substation and control design, will strive for excellence in all areas of their work, and exemplify LCRA’s values of focusing on service, taking initiative, showing respect, operating with integrity, and focusing on safety!

You will be trusted to:

- Develop conceptual designs and scoping documents for projects to improve the existing electric grid and/or facilitate the interconnection of new load and generation facilities.
- Investigate and analyze problems and develops appropriate solutions, drafts reports, and receive assistance on unusual or complex features.
- Coordinate project scope reviews between individuals and other disciplines. Ensure timely communication occurs, develop and conducts presentations to management and others.
- Maintain knowledge of engineering principles. Keep informed of technical developments, industry codes, and safety and/or regulatory requirements which have impact upon the respective engineering discipline. Fully develops knowledge of LCRA procedures, equipment, and systems.
- Gather engineering information by traveling independently to various locations (substations, transmission lines, etc.) as necessary.
- Recommend new and improved practices and procedures related to assigned area.

You qualify with:

- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science plus one or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.  
- Driver's license

- Skill in articulating complex, technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
