Employment Type: Full Time, Fixed Term Middle Leader Position Six (6) month Middle Leader contract.
Two (2) further three (3) year appointments will be made subject to a satisfactory performance review at the conclusion of the initial six (6) month middle leader contract. The position holds a substantive permanent teaching position with the Diocese of Cairns.
Salary Range: Salary Range: Commensurate with experience - Graduate $86,600 - Proficient 4 $107,988 FTE gross per annum, plus applicable Middle Leader Tier 2C allowance $16,274 gross per annum FTE OR Proficient 5 and above: $140,998 FTE gross per annum

The College is situated in the central business district of Cairns, one block from the Cairns Esplanade. St Monica's is the oldest school in the region, with rich heritage and Mercy traditions. As a Catholic Secondary Day and Boarding College for young women, St Monica's is a faith community where belief in the dignity of the human person underlies our educational philosophy, structures and processes. During the last few years, the College has undertaken a significant building project to compliment its two heritage buildings. Reinforcing our strong Mercy tradition all of the buildings are named after Sisters of Mercy. We are the only all female school in the Cairns region with an enrolment of over 690 students. Year levels 7 to 12 are offered, with both day and boarding options.
About the Role
The college is currently accepting applications for a Technology Curriculum Middle Leader on a fixed-term contract. A substantive permanent teaching position is attached to this role.
The role of the Technology Curriculum Middle Leader is to support the mission of the College through leadership of the learning and teaching programs of the Technology curriculum. This involves developing appropriate curriculum in line with National, State and Diocesan requirements; ensuring that appropriate pedagogies are developed and implemented at all levels; monitoring the quality of student learning and the effectiveness of teacher practice through appropriate supervision; utilising thorough analysis of current data to inform decisions; building appropriate partnerships within and outside of the school; and prudently administering available resources. The Technology Curriculum Middle Leader oversees the Digital Technologies and Home Economics subject areas including Certificate III in Hospitality. Curriculum Middle Leaders are accountable to and under the direction of the Assistant Principal – Curriculum.
