Columbia State Community College is hiring a One Stop Customer Services Representative to provide excellent customer service to current and prospective students, parents, and other visitors in the Enrollment Services Officers. This person will assist students with general questions concerning Columbia State Community College and specific questions concerning admissions, records, and financial aid.
Essential Functions:
- Receive students and guests in a pleasing and helpful way and ensure adequate information is distributed to the clients.
- Assess the needs of guests and direct them appropriately
- Maintain a positive, efficient and comfortable environment for students and guests.
- Maintain an on-going understanding of admissions, records, and financial aid rules and regulations.
- Organize reception area to ensure all necessary forms and other documents are updated and available at all times.
- Perform routine clerical duties such as typing, correspondence, travel claims, purchase orders, work orders and other documents; duplicating and filing correspondence, etc.
- Maintain statistics for reception area and generate monthly reports.
- Answer the telephone.
Supplemental Functions:
- Maintain files accurately, in paper and electronically.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
Education, Training and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Computer skills in using Microsoft Office
Education, Training and Experience Preferred:
- Associate’s degree in business, office administration, or related field.
- Previous office experience with word processing skills.
- Customer Service experience in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:
- Ability to communicate effectively, accurately and appropriately, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Efficiently operate a personal computer, associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and student information systems (i.e. BANNER)
- Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the Columbia State community and the public.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible work hours; overtime may be required during peak periods
- Requires travel to campuses and schools in the nine-county service area and to other locations for meetings and other job-related activities.
- Normal sitting and movement in an office environment
- Visual and Hand usage of computer terminal/PC
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and bend and stoop.
Hiring Salary Range: $29,080- $34,900
This position is based at the Columbia, TN Campus.
