The Opportunity
We are seeking a Program Manager, Financial Management Transformation to lead a University-wide initiative that will shape the future of financial management at UniSC. Reporting to the Associate Director, Financial Management and Commercial, you will oversee the delivery of a comprehensive program designed to strengthen financial sustainability, enhance decision-making, and optimise systems, processes, and resource allocation in line with the University’s Strategic Plan. This role is your chance to work collaboratively across the University and with external partners, guiding change, managing risk, and ensuring measurable outcomes that boost financial capability and resilience. You will champion continuous improvement, foster an inclusive and safe workplace, and ensure that program outputs not only meet high standards but also support long-term growth and impact.
You will
- lead a high-impact, university-wide financial management transformation program, delivering meaningful improvements to decision-making, governance and sustainability;
- redesign and embed contemporary financial management frameworks, including budgeting, forecasting and resource allocation practices;
- drive organisation-wide change by building financial capability, influencing senior stakeholders, and embedding a culture of accountability and insight; and
- oversee program planning, delivery, risk and performance, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within scope and aligned to strategic priorities

You will possess:
- Experience leading complex finance-related projects, guiding cross-functional teams, managing timelines and resources, and delivering outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and financial management skills, with familiarity in enterprise systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel.
- Proven leadership and people management capabilities, including overseeing workflows, improving processes, and balancing competing priorities under pressure.
- Excellent project and operational coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives while building collaborative relationships across the University and with external partners.
- A track record of identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency, performance, and compliance.
- Well-developed risk, issue, and change management skills, navigating complex environments to achieve program and organisational success.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly, influence stakeholders, and engage effectively at all levels.
Desirable
- Membership with the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants or equivalent.
- Project management certification, such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
- Experience in the higher education sector and understanding of accountability and reporting requirements.
