About the role
The Senior Technical Specialist – Java provides a range of technical services supporting, maintaining, enhancing, designing, building and deploying features and modules to the TAC for a range of applications including business critical projects.
About the Team
The Senior Technical Specialist – Java will be a part of the TAC’s Continuous Delivery technical team. The team is passionate, agile and collaborative in their approach to deliver business value changes to the TAC’s Claims Platform.
A Day in the Life
- Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate software design methods, tools and techniques; selecting appropriately from predictive plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
- Identifies, evaluates and manages the adoption of appropriate tools, techniques and processes to create a robust integration framework.
- Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas.
- Drafts and maintains procedures and documentation for applications support.
What we’re looking for
Proven technical leadership in solution delivery
Proven experience leveraging software delivery methods, designing and developing web-based Java applications and web service integration solutions that create measurable business value.
Highly developed software engineering practices
Extensive knowledge of object-oriented programming and the application of design patterns along with the ability and commitment to creating readable, reliable and maintainable codes.
Strong collaboration and technical translation skills
Significant knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-functional agile delivery teams and an ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences – bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
