About the role:
This is a fantastic time to be joining Suncorp as we implement one of the largest transformation projects ever undertaken – Digital Insurer.
You will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of testing for the Digital Insurer Program, which will replace the legacy mainframe policy administration system with the cloud-based web application, Duck Creek and integrating with all platforms in the value chain.
This is a large-scale Enterprise transformation, touching every platform within the insurance value chain, whilst also adding in new platforms as part of this transformation.
An opportunity has arisen for a DI Test Manager to lead R2 and future releases. The scope of the role is to manage end to end testing, inclusive of oversight across Platforms, Integration, Functional & Non-functional, as well as overseeing User Acceptance Testing. The suitable candidate will be a proven Technology leader, with an ability to communicate and influence across many diverse sets of teams whilst ensuring a Quality product is delivered for the business.

What you’ll do:
- Lead and oversee all test management activities for the program including developing and delivering test strategies/approach in an agile delivery model.
- Apply shift-left testing principles to ensure early defect detection and resolution.
- Establish testing processes including defect management, procedures, and tools to achieve the required level of testing and quality assurance across the Program.
- Collaborate with delivery and technology leads to ensure test coverage across SIT, UAT, NFT, and PVT phases.
- Oversee testing deliverables from external partners and vendors to ensure alignment with program timelines and quality standards; establish clear expectations, SLAs, and escalation paths with delivery partners.
- Work with the Program Enablement team to identify and implement appropriate test tools and frameworks to support automated testing.
- Build and maintain a high-performing team aligned with Suncorp’s Quality Assurance and Business Acceptance Testing Frameworks.
What you’ll bring:
- ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Certification (CTFL) – mandatory
- Minimum 5 years Insurance Industry experience and a minimum 10+ years of previous Agile Test Management experience in a complex enterprise environment
- Good experience driving test automation in large scale program setting
- Solid experience (5+ years) leading offshore partners
- Strong understanding of cloud-based applications, particularly Duck Creek or similar policy administration systems would be beneficial
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Strong resilience in handling challenges and setbacks.
