Business Development Manager – CIL Insurance
We’re looking for a confident and proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth and strengthen brand awareness for CIL Insurance – Australia’s leading specialist insurer for caravans and RVs. This is a dynamic, relationship-focused role with plenty of variety, travel opportunities, and the chance to make a real impact across distributor networks, national events, and the broader recreational vehicle (RV) industry.

This is a full-time role, with a mix of travel, on-the-ground event presence, and flexibility to work from home and on occasion from Suncorp’s Heritage Lanes Offices in Brisbane.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building and managing strong relationships with CIL’s national Distributor network to increase referrals, drive quote opportunities, and support performance outcomes.
- Conducting regular audits and training sessions to embed best practices and ensure compliance standards are met.
- Identifying, engaging and onboarding new Distributors aligned with CIL’s values and risk profile.
- Representing CIL at state and national RV shows, sponsorship events and brand activations, maximising brand visibility and return on investment.
- Coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders to support the delivery of CIL’s business development strategy and annual program of work.
- Handling and resolving distributor and customer feedback with professionalism and care.
- Maintaining a strong safety and wellbeing culture, ensuring compliance with WHS and regulatory requirements during all offsite activities.
Who you’ll work with:
You’ll report to the National Business Development Manager and work closely with:
- CIL Distributors and Referrers, servicing caravan dealers primarily between North Brisbane and Maroochydore, with some distributors located up the QLD coast as far as Cairns.
- QLD Caravan Industry Association
- Caravan and Camping Show organisers
- External partners
What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience in business development, sales, or external relationship management.
- Knowledge of the general insurance or RV market (or a strong willingness to learn).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to influence, plan and execute business growth strategies.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Confidence in presenting and delivering training to varied audiences.
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a genuine passion for customer service and collaboration within the BDM team.
