Data Engineer

We're looking for a Data Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality, well-structured customer complaints data that helps Suncorp meet its obligations to customers, communities, and shareholders.

In this role, you'll maintain and enhance Group Customer Advocate (GCA) data assets, working across the full data lifecycle - from source systems to analytics end users - ensuring data is accessible, reliable, and effectively utilised across the business.

This is a 12 month contract opportunity and we’re open to candidates from Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.

What you’ll do

• Maintain and enhance GCA data assets, including running regular data processes and integrating new sources
• Ensure data assets align with established standards and support issue resolution and improvement opportunities in source data
• Uphold data governance through documentation, data lineage, dictionaries, and RAID logs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to embed complaints data across the business and act as a subject matter expert on data utilisation and integration

What you’ll bring

• Degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Business, IT, or Engineering (desired)
• 1–3 years’ experience in a data engineering or analytics role
• Proficient in SQL, Python, and Excel
• Strong understanding of end-to-end data processes and database principles
• Knowledge of project management practices (desired)
• Experience in complaints, risk, or data governance (desired)
