Risk Advisor

We are looking for a risk management professional to oversee Insurance functions, providing expert guidance and oversight to enhance risk maturity. This role acts as a trusted advisor to the business, supports effective second-line risk management, and plays a key part in shaping the Risk team’s culture and strategic direction.

What you’ll do

• Oversee and challenge risk identification, assessment, and monitoring across Insurance Functions
• Promote a strong risk culture by reporting and escalating risk management issues
• Build and maintain effective relationships with the CRO Community and business stakeholders
• Advise on the interpretation and implementation of risk frameworks and policies
• Provide data-driven insights to support risk decision-making
• Ensure risk management practices align with Risk Appetite through framework oversight
• Support delivery of the Insurance CRO Oversight Plan and Risk Oversight Report
• Represent the Risk team in key initiatives and change projects

What you’ll bring

• Relevant tertiary qualification in business, law, finance, risk, or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in insurance, banking, or financial services, with at least 3 years in risk management
• Strong commercial acumen and depth of industry experience
• Effective negotiation, influencing, and communication skills
• Proficient in legislative and regulatory interpretation
• Insightful, proactive, and innovative approach to risk
• Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented mindset with courteous assertiveness
• Passionate about risk, bringing energy, warmth, and a good sense of humour
