Risk Manager

We are seeking a strategic and collaborative risk professional to oversee Insurance functions and support enterprise-wide risk management. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the business, offering expert guidance to strengthen risk maturity. As a key member from a 2^nd line perspective, you will help drive effective risk practices and contribute to the evolution of the Risk team's culture and strategic direction.

This is a 6 month secondment opportunity.

What you’ll do

• Oversee and challenge risk identification, assessment, and monitoring across Insurance Functions
• Promote a strong risk culture by escalating gaps or opportunities in risk management
• Advise 1st line leadership on strategic and operational risk matters to enhance risk practices
• Build strong partnerships with the CRO Community and Business Leadership Team, offering expert risk guidance
• Interpret and support the implementation of risk frameworks and policies within the business
• Provide data-driven risk insights using internal and external trends and forecasts
• Monitor the effective application of risk frameworks to ensure alignment with Risk Appetite
• Support delivery of the Insurance CRO Oversight Plan
• Represent the Risk team in change initiatives and strategic projects
• Contribute to Risk function projects and broader team objectives

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualification in business, law, finance, risk, or related field preferred
• 10+ years in insurance, banking, or financial services, with 5+ years in risk management
• Strong commercial acumen, political awareness, and regulatory knowledge
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills
• Proactive, innovative, and insightful risk professional
• Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented with a passionate approach
