Overview of the role
This is a fantastic time to be joining Suncorp as the industry goes through significant change. As a result, we are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Consumer Tribe to operate in the Motor Claims space.
You will have the opportunity to join our large Analysis Chapter that supports a variety of medium to large scale programs across the Suncorp Group. The Chapter consists of around 280 like-minded analysts, where ideas and best practice are shared via masterclasses and knowledge sharing. You will support projects being delivered in a continuous delivery model (Agile).

What you’ll do:
- Build strong relationships through engagement with colleagues, and stakeholders across Business and Technology.
- Document current and future state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Use information gathering techniques to proactively discover requirements and synthesise information accurately, completely, and coherently.
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams and business stakeholders to gather, validate and document business requirements and develop recommendations and solutions that meet business and customer needs.
- Raise, and support mitigation and resolution of, risks and issues using established tools and frameworks were applicable.
- Create user stories (in JIRA) to support delivery.
- Work closely with squad / project members, including but not limited to Delivery Leads, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, architects, to work through ideation and discovery of new initiatives.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 2-4 years business analysis experience in a project/delivery orientated role, from a large organisation.
- Minimum 2-4 years’ Agile, Lean and waterfall experience including knowledge of Agile practices, workshops, and Agile ceremonies facilitation.
- Must be able to translate and understand business and technical requirements and provide appropriate alternatives and solutions to meet those requirements.
- Financial Services or Insurance background, solid industry knowledge with the ability to understand regulatory environments, customer needs, and operational challenges.
- Proven experience in ideation and discovery, demonstrated capability to identify, shape, and evaluate new initiatives, from concept through to business case, with a focus on driving innovation and value.
- Strong understanding of technology, able to confidently engage with technical stakeholders, translate business needs into technology considerations, and assess feasibility, without needing to be a hands-on technical Business Analyst.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills including experience in dealing with various stakeholders.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to make a difference.
