The Role

The Senior Pharmacy Technician - Medicines Supply is responsible for supervising staff working in the Medicines Supply area, including Pharmacy Stores Officers and Pharmacy Technicians, and ensuring an efficient and high-quality logistics service is provided.

The Senior Pharmacy Technician – Medicines Supply supports the Manager – Medicines Supply by overseeing the work of other pharmacy technicians and stores officers.  This includes:

  • Coordinating and rostering pharmacy technicians and stores officers.
  • Providing training to pharmacy staff.
  • Undertaking purchasing and inventory management duties.
  • Undertaking the operational duties of the Medicines Supply Manager in their absence.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 22 August 2025.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: 

Salary $81,915 - $94,263 per annum (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455 - $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $109,964 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme (For AHP3 positions only - delete where not applicable)
  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $122,908 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme (For AHP4 positions only - delete where not applicable)
  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Possess or be actively enrolled in Certificate III or IV in Health Services Assistance (Hospital and Community Health Pharmacy Assistance) from a recognised education institution; or
  2. Possess or be actively enrolled in Certificate III or IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support from a recognised educational institution; or

  3. An Associate Diploma from a recognised educational institution, or an equivalent qualification, that is relevant to the work of a pharmacy technician.

    *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

  1. Current Driver’s Licence.
