The Role

Under the indirect supervision of the Nurse Manager - Infection, Prevention and Control Unit (IPCU):

  • Apply highly developed knowledge, skills and experience in the defined field of infection prevention and control to lead and coordinate the delivery of infection prevention and control services to a broad range of staff employed within the Department.
  • Contribute to the Infection Prevention and Control service within the Department through the coordination of a range of risk management activities and processes, including surveillance; auditing; education; and policy, protocol and guideline review.
  • Provide dedicated specialist support to employees managing patients with complex healthcare associated infections.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager - IPCU and other staff within the service to plan, develop and administer policies and procedures for the delivery and development of infection prevention and control services, including policy review and the development of strategies to meet current and emerging priorities.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to four (4) months. 

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: Registered Nurse, Grade 5

Salary $106,570 - $112,440 per annum (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Holds, or working towards, a relevant postgraduate qualification

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
