The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Social Worker will:

  • Undertake the delivery of quality care to clients of the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework. 
  • Provide a specialist assessment and treatment service to clients of Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service and their families or carers. 
  • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 3 months.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: Allied Health Professional, Level 3

Salary $110,425 - $126,703 per annum (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW
  • Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements
  • Full member of Australian Association of Social Workers

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
