About the Role - Primary Purpose / Focus of Duties:

The Manager – Office of the Chief Executive Officer provides high level strategic advice to the Homes Tasmania Board, Chief Executive Officer and Executive on organisational governance and policy, and machinery of government matters.

  • Provide high level strategic and operational advice to the Board, Chief Executive Officer and Executive on governance matters and board policy and procedures, finalise and distribute board papers and meeting minutes, and ensure the completion of actions arising from board meetings.
  • Provide high level strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive on matters relating to Ministerial, Cabinet and Parliamentary processes.
  • Manage the relationship between Homes Tasmania and the Minister’s Office, including engagement with the Minister’s staff and coordination of the provision of accurate and timely information.
  • Oversee the effective management of major parliamentary processes for Homes Tasmania including Budget Estimates and preparation of the Homes Tasmania Annual Report.
  • Manage complex enquiries, prepare complex correspondence and provide high level research, advice and analysis in relation to Homes Tasmania policies and practices.
  • Brief the Executive and the Chief Executive Officer and other stakeholders on developing issues and represent Homes Tasmania in high-level interdepartmental and intergovernmental forums.

Position Selection Criteria includes:

  • Demonstrated high level management experience with the ability to provide a high standard of leadership in a complex, professional work environment, with a proven track record in achievement of required outcomes.
  • Politically astute with demonstrated experience and knowledge of the machinery of government, with the ability to identify relevant issues and make sound judgments within a complex operating environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of corporate governance principles, and in supporting an effective relationship between a governing board and organisational management.

Classification:  General Stream Band 8 (HAHSA)

Salary: $139,470.00 to $148,863.00 pro rata, per annum - plus 12.0 % Superannuation

Location: Homes Tasmania - Office of The Chief Executive Officer - Hobart

Period of employment / Hours:  Fixed-term full-time day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) commencing ASAP for a period of 6 months..
