Head of Portfolio Management

  • Own and shape the strategy for a large‑scale consumer credit card portfolio, driving growth in spend, balances, profitability and customer engagement across a nationally recognised brand.
  • Use advanced data, commercial insight and customer understanding to influence portfolio performance, working with senior leaders across product, risk, marketing, digital and technology.
  • Lead and develop a high‑calibre portfolio management team, delivering strong commercial results while maintaining regulatory excellence and a customer‑first mindset.

In the role of Head of Portfolio Management, Consumer Cards, you will join Credit Cards & Instalment Loans team that’s doubling down on customer obsession and keeping it simple.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to: 

  • Develop and execute strategies to improve customer engagement in the card portfolio driving growth in spend, balances, margins, retention and loyalty
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build portfolio strategy through targeted marketing campaigns and digital interactions
  • Leverage data analytics to define target segments, conduct portfolio analysis, and improve customer targeting
  • Partner with Product, Risk, Marketing, Data, Operations, Technology, and Finance to deliver portfolio outcomes
  • Ensure all activities align with regulatory guidelines and internal risk appetites
  • Lead and mentor a team, cultivating a high-performance culture for portfolio managers 

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver for our customers. You’ll need:  

  • Significant experience in financial services, with deep expertise in credit cards and a proven track record of leading large‑scale product or portfolio P&Ls.
  • Strong commercial acumen and advanced analytical capability, with the ability to translate data and insights into clear portfolio strategy, pricing decisions and growth actions.
  • Demonstrated strategic mindset and decision quality, balancing customer outcomes, profitability and risk within regulatory and credit risk frameworks.
  • Experience leading and developing multi‑disciplinary teams, with a track record of driving performance, engagement and complex change initiatives.
  • Proven senior stakeholder management capability, able to influence and collaborate across executive and enterprise‑level partners including Product, Risk, Marketing, Finance, Digital, Operations and Technology.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
