The Role:

We currently have a new vacancy available for a Carpenter/Handyperson who will be responsible for minor maintenance and building works. You will work across Sydney Water sites & assets delivering both reactive and preventative maintenance repairs under direction from your Supervisor.

 

Responsibilities will include:-

  • Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of a number of Sydney Water facilities
  • Carry out general repairs such as broken fixtures, damaged doors, basic painting, carpentry, tiling repairs and general building maintenance
  • Prioritise and attend to urgent requests
  • Perform pre-start inspections and keep audit reports
  • Assist the wider trade team with two-person works, spotting and general assistance
  • Assist Supervisors and Coordinators with guiding subcontractors onsite, scoping works and providing feedback

 

What you will need:

  • Construction White card
  • Manual Drivers licence
  • Proven track record in maintenance, ideally within a facilities environment
  • 4+ years experience
  • Flexible approach and a positive attitude
  • Excellent Customer Service & Communication Skills
  • A team player but also able to work autonomously
  • Be willing to partake in our on-boarding process which includes pre-employment medicals, reference and qualification checks, online inductions 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal direct supervision
  • Dedication to safety and safe work practices
