On the back of Project growth within our Sydney Water (West) team we are looking to appoint a Project Manager to work in our Major Periodic Maintenance Team.

 

The Role:

Our MPM Team are seeking to engage an experienced Project Manager to commence employment on our program of works across Western Sydney critical water and wastewater infrastructure.

As the Project Manager you and your team will have an active role in the planning of new projects, providing technical input and the development of construction methodologies, programme of works, risk, and opportunity schedules, whilst building on our strong relationship with our client.

This customer focused role is responsible for planning, executing and finalising project(s) for delivery to our client (Sydney Water). The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for the accurately and timely delivery of concurrent projects in line with safety, quality, environmental, schedule, budget, and scope objectives.

 

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following.

  • Strong and effective leadership and mentoring skills
  • Effectively and professionally manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Internal and external project reporting
  • Commercial management, including preparation of claims, variations and extensions of time.
  • Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s safety, quality assurance & environmental management system.
  • Ability to manage all phases of complex construction projects.
  • Contract management, planning and financial management experience.
  • Manage internal field and subcontractor resources.
  • Coordinate deliverables to achieve project time and budget objectives.
  • Manage numerous projects within the program of works concurrently.

 

What you will need:

  • A degree level qualification in Engineering or Project Management (or similar)
  • Sound experience in a Project Management role
  • Prior experience in maintenance or construction projects in an industrial or water facility would be highly desired. 
  • A good understanding of control systems
  • Knowledge of project financial management, forecasting, procurement, and contracts management functions
  • An understanding of NEC4 will be an advantage.
  • A strong safety focusses.
  • An affinity for continuous improvement and innovation, applying learnings to ‘real world’ project delivery environments.

  • Experience in front-line management of people and work teams
  • Effective communication skills, influencing ability and sound decision-making skills.
  • Full clean driver’s license
