JOB OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for functional engineering input to a dedicated project or suite of projects (Minor Capital Delivery). Responsible for functional engineering support on maintenance delivery.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Understand and work to the site Permit System. Adhere to the Task Risk Assessment and JSEA processes as appropriate
 Adhere to and challenge where appropriate, the client’s software development, software management and hardware procurement standards. Provide engineering expertise on standards updates and creation.
 Read and understand detailed instrument, electrical and mechanical drawings, or specifications, to plan and complete the task and ascertain the materials and equipment required. Prepare and mark up electrical drawings to reflect process control system changes.
 Examine and test control systems to diagnose faults.
 Provide control system (PCS7) support in testing and diagnosing SCADA (WinCC) related faults.
 Provide control system (PCS7) support in testing and diagnosing electrical faults.
 Conduct control loop function checks and tuning.
 Participate in the client’s Control System after hours callout roster when capable, to provide after-hours technical support and remote/onsite assistance as necessary related to the engineering discipline, at an agreed rate
 Ensure technical standards within field of expertise are met.
 Prepare technical evaluation of control system equipment. Produce technical evaluation reports.
 Provide Control System engineering support for other functions during all project phases, including interpretation of standards.
 Under direction from the Team Lead takes responsibility for study, design, specification and services related to the engineering discipline.
 Develop project documentation and provide project management for all phases of self-performed control system projects
 Design, develop and document software programs for PLCs, OIUs, industrial communications networks, radio link devices and other industrial communications devices. Provide software programming expertise for all programmable devices
 Participate in appropriate technical training to maintain currency of technical skills and knowledge
 Participate in and contribute to internal technical discussions in order to share site and technical knowledge with the Process Control Systems Team.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

-Minimum Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Robotics, Mechatronics or similar) and/or Computer Science (Software Engineering or similar)
Or
 Equivalent with relevant considerable experience


- Minimum Experience:
 Essential experience with Siemens Step 7 platform (Simatic, ProfiNet, ProfiBus, Wincc)
 Essential PCS experience at Eastern Treatment Plant (Melbourne Water)
 Demonstrate balance of industrial experience at relevant level and position

 Able to deal with various stakeholders with high level verbal communication skills

 Mobile and willing to spend time away from office location as and when operation requires
 Experience with PLCs, OIUs and industrial networks, especially: Allen Bradley, Siemens (TIA Portal), and experience with Emerson ( PAC Systems, Quickpanels, Emerson Panel, Genius networks) will be desirable.
 Experience with water supply, treatment and sewerage treatment within water utility industry will be highly regarded
