About the role

Reporting in to the Island Operations Manager, this exciting role is responsible for providing functional support across our Rottnest Island Contract. The role will be based on Rottnest Island and require commuting from either Fremantle or Hillarys. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying improvement opportunities and providing HSE support to implement
  • Working closely with team members to completing risk assessments at various worksites
  • Promoting and contributing to a positive safety culture
  • Undertaking incident investigations and providing follow up reports as necessary
  • Providing HSE field leadership and interaction with our employees
  • Collating HSE information and reporting on the data at regular intervals
  • Implementing HSE system requirements, policies and procedures as required
  • Assisting with the coordination and management of workplace injuries

 

About you

You will be a self-starter with a passion for all things HSE. With an energetic nature, you will be someone who can build positive working relationships with both internal network our customers and our contractor base, actively advocating for a healthy and safe working environment. The ideal candidate will ideally have the following:

  • Prior experience working in a similar HSE role
  • Formal qualifications in health and safety
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)
  • The ability to influence and drive positive HSEQ outcomes
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of current applicable legislation
  • Exposure to incident investigation ICAM methodology (desirable)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • A current WA Driver's license
