Programmed Facility Management are seeking experienced Tradespersons to join our growing WA Housing Teams located across the Midwest and Pilbara regions. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of an essential team that provides regional maintenance services to over 18,000 public housing dwellings within the Department of Communities, supporting some of our most vulnerable communities in remote locations throughout the State.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Branch Supervisors, our Tradespersons are primarily responsible for the safe and quality completion of general and reactive maintenance of our Contract’s facilities and sites. From general Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrical, to Painting and much more!

Duties include:

  • Carpentry tasks such as completing any general maintenance and installation of cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings – the use of hand tools, machines, or power saws as required.
  • Plumbing tasks such as installing, repairing, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings and drainage systems. Responding to, diagnose, and resolving plumbing and plumbing emergencies.
  • Electrical tasks such as installing or repair lighting fixtures, switches and switchboards including general roughing in/out and installations.
  • Painting tasks such as application of paints, sealers, and solvents to the exterior building surfaces and interior surfaces such as plaster, sheetrock, concrete and wood. Preparation of painting surfaces for painting by scraping, filling in the cracks and removing old paint.

 

About You

To join our team, you will be a qualified Traderspersons who has experience in a domestic or commercial environment, has excellent attention to detail and a strength for delivering a high quality service without compromise. The incumbent is a key person within the Team, promoting staff morale while displaying a “can do” and “Team Player” attitude. Additionally, you will provide first-class customer service whilst maintaining a commitment to the safety of yourself and others at all times.

 

You will possess the necessary Qualification for the Trade:

  • Certificate III in Carpentry & Joinery (mandatory) and Locksmith experience (desirable)
  • Certificate III in Plumbing (mandatory) and G Class WA Gas Plumbing License (desirable)
  • Cert III in Electrotechnology (mandatory) and Open Class WA Electrical License
  • Current Painters Registration (mandatory)
  • Previous experience and tenure on major commercial and industrial works favorable

In addition to:

  • VALID C Class and HRWL (LF) License (mandatory)
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Ability to pass comprehensive (Client) Pre-Employment Medical, including Instant Drug and Alcohol Screening
  • Current satisfactory National Police Check (within 6 months)
  • First Aid training and additional Trade based competencies (desirable)

Additionally, you will also possess the following skills:

  • Advanced Systems and Technology experience i.e., MS Office, online/web-based Workorder Management Software (Loc8) and Safety, Payroll & Training requirements,
  • Ability to work in a Team; be a self-motivator and take instructions.
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing work tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a professional approach in the workplace, with excellent customer service skills.
  • Have a strong commitment to the safety of yourself and others, at all times.
