About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our Programmed Procurement team in Melbourne on a full-time basis. In this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining systems and processes that contribute to the effective operation of the procurement function across the business.
With a strong focus on compliance and a commitment to building mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in delivering operational cost savings and driving efficiency improvements. You’ll support the end-to-end procurement lifecycle - from tender management and contract mobilisation to negotiation and supplier engagement, ensuring value is delivered at every stage.
Reporting to the Category Manager, you’ll bring a strong grasp of procurement processes and legislation, along with a passion for fostering collaborative, value-driven relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. This is a dynamic opportunity where your stakeholder engagement, commercial acumen, attention to detail, and team-oriented mindset will help drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement and maintain procurement systems and processes that support business efficiency and compliance
- Support end-to-end RFx management, including supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract execution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Ensure procurement activities align with Programmed’s compliance standards and operational goals
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities and process improvements across multiple projects
- Support contract mobilisation and project delivery through effective procurement planning and execution
About You
You are a commercially minded procurement professional with a proven track record of delivering value in large organisations. You bring a solutions-focused mindset, a commitment to compliance, and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business. You will bring:
- Procurement-related qualification or experience (3 + years minimum) preferred
- Direct experience in subcontractor procurement within maintenance
- Thorough understanding of maintenance contracts
- Strong analysis and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Vendor Panel and Rapid Global experience desirable
