About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team on a casual basis, working full‑time hours in support of a critical facilities management contract.

This role is primarily focused on preventative maintenance within a high‑security correctional facility expansion, contributing to prisoner health, rehabilitation outcomes and broader community safety. The position will also involve reactive maintenance, fault finding and installation works as required.

Based in Gatton (QLD), this role is offered on a casual engagement but provides consistent, guaranteed full‑time hours of 36+ hours per week. The position includes participation in an on‑call roster, with applicable on‑call, overtime and penalty rates paid in line with conditions, and offers a strong pathway to full‑time permanent employment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and reactive plumbing maintenance across the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing faults quickly and efficiently.
  • Conduct system inspections and ensure compliance with safety and health standards.
  • Install and upgrade plumbing systems, including water, waste, and gas systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs.
  • Support high-security systems and emergency plumbing services.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and work in a high-security environment.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring experience in major commercial or industrial settings, with a strong focus on Preventative Maintenance. You’re passionate about delivering high-quality work and are deeply committed to safety; both for yourself and your team. Additionally, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Plumbing
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role is preferred
  • Current driver’s license and White Card (preferred)
  • A professional approach to the workplace
  • Proven ability to deliver high-standard work
  • A solid understanding of and commitment to quality, environmental, and OH&S management systems
