The Opportunity
As Head Chef, you will take ownership of a busy village catering operation, balancing operational performance with food quality and presentation.
This is more than just running a kitchen—you’ll play a key role in lifting standards, refining processes, and shaping the catering experience for residents.
With a focus on fresh, well-presented meals, you’ll oversee:
- High-volume service delivery across multiple sittings
- Cook-to-order service and themed dining nights
- Menu development and continuous improvement
- Creating a true “home away from home” for residents
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all day-to-day kitchen operations
- Deliver consistent, high-quality food service at scale
- Maintain strict adherence to HACCP and food safety standards
- Manage stock control, ordering, and inventory processes
- Oversee budgets, food costs, and forecasting
- Drive operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead, coach and develop a team of chefs and catering staff
- Maintain high presentation standards across all service periods
- Work closely with Village Management to ensure seamless site operations
About You
You’re an experienced Head Chef who understands how to run a structured, high-performing kitchen in a FIFO or high-volume environment.
You bring a balance of operational discipline and passion for quality, with the ability to lead a team and deliver consistently under pressure.
You will have:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef in high-volume or remote environments
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach
- Experience managing food costs, budgets, and stock control
- Solid understanding of HACCP and compliance requirements
- Ability to drive standards, improve processes, and lead change
- A commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality outcomes
Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Food Safety Supervisor certification
- Full Australian working rights
- Valid C Class Driver’s Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Current National Police Check (valid within the last 3 months)
