The Automation Engineer contributes to the delivery and support of software capabilities. They play an active role within a cross-functional team planning and executing technical change in line with an overarching set of standards and practices. They will hold a critical role to help execute the charter of how we can make our software development process more efficient to deliver features faster that make our customers happy. This role plays a key role in increasing the test coverage across all supported platforms and following best practices thus helping teams to ship high-quality code in less time.
About the role:
- Contribute to the delivery, support and improvement of software capabilities
- Acts as the enabler for the entire organization by increasing test coverage across all supported platforms
- Supporting with continuous improvements of test processes, helping teams to ship high-quality code in less time.
- Work within an Agile environment & influence best practice approaches to quality and automation - right from build to thorough testing, test automation and integration.
- Create and maintain functional automation tests at the UI and API tiers
- Maintain tooling to identify test failure points, reduce flaky tests and enable management take go/no-go release decisions based on agreed quality metrics
- Work with developers and review the unit, UI test coverage to have optimum level of coverage at UI.
- Contribute to the readiness of work including discovery, technical design, story articulation, and effort estimations
About you:
- Around 3-4 years of experience in a Testing role.
- 1-2 years of hands on experience in writing automation tests on a daily basis and familiar with processes including test plans/strategy
- Good scripting, execution, reporting skills and testing of critical web based applications and APIs.
- Strong and proven Manual Testing skills.
- UI automation skills using Playwright or similar tools such as Selenium
- Prior experience working with JIRA, any Git is an additional bonus
- Proficient in programming languages – TypeScript or JavaScript
- Has a good understanding of Agile processes
- Prior work experience with automated testing using CI/CD methodologies and worked on Jenkins or similar tools.
- Ability to look at the big picture and effectively liaise with stakeholders to define quality improvement roadmaps.
- Very strong communication skills, adaptable to technical and non-technical audiences.
