About the role:

Opportunity to join a high performing team within the Mechanised Production Business Unit. Working on a diverse number of projects for the Ballast Cleaning Operations team, you will provide Project Management/ Administration and maintenance of Engineering Standards, Designs, Legislation, specifications and work practices. This exciting opportunity can be based in either Rockhampton or Sarina.  

  • Organise technical aspects of complex Engineering Projects from planning through to execution as per requirement specifications, safety in operations from a contractor perspective as well as internal operations.  
  • Develop and coordinate technical aspects and strategies for new technology, financial instruments, procurement strategies applicable to engineering systems and networks.
  • Design, checking and auditing of complex engineering systems submitted by planning teams and external providers.
  • Organise and prepare the associated documentation from a quality assurance perspective and aid in the development of new and emergent technologies with asset data teams.
  • Ensure that engineering designs produced conform to legislation and the highest degree of regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the training and development of managers and other senior executives allowing them to understand complex methodologies in simple forms.
  • The ability to present concepts and financial strategies to improve efficiency to senior executives.
  • Site Supervision opportunities of rail projects

About you: 

To be a part of this successful team you will have a strong background in Project Engineering, Design and Standards. You are a passionate influencer with the ability to network at all levels.

  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering
  • Engineering experience associated with the rail environment.
  • RPEQ preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Substantial skills in conducting and leading inquiries, special investigations and audits
  • Ability to take decisive action under extreme pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise activities and practice good time management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Proven commitment to safety with a focus on quality
