About the role: Are you ready to elevate your career in procurement and supply chain management? Aurizon, a leader in the rail industry, is seeking a Category Leader to join our dynamic rail infrastructure procurement team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving strategic outcomes.

As a Category Leader, you will play a crucial role in shaping our procurement strategies and optimising our supply base. If you have a strong background in construction and/or maintenance services procurement and are ready to lead impactful initiatives, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategise and Lead: Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with Aurizon’s goals.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Partner with stakeholders to understand their objectives, manage risks, and provide strategic procurement insights.
  • Analyse and Recommend: Keep abreast of market trends, analyse data, and offer alternative supply solutions to enhance our value proposition.
  • Drive Performance: Lead end-to-end source-to-contract processes and manage supplier performance to achieve outstanding commercial outcomes.
  • Achieve Savings: Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive procurement and contract management efficiencies.
  • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to relevant legislation and corporate policies, maintaining the highest standards of integrity.
  • Champion Improvement: Utilise your business acumen to spearhead continuous improvement initiatives.

Who You Are:

  • Expert in Construction/Maintenance Services: You bring a strong background and substantial commercial experience in this field.
  • Commercially Savvy: Your negotiation skills and ability to build strong commercial relationships are top-notch.
  • Accredited Professional: Holding a nationally recognized commercial accreditation is preferred.(CIPS, CA, CPA,CFA)
  • Strategic Thinker: You can articulate complex matters clearly and influence stakeholders to drive strategic decisions.
  • Excellent Communicator: Your communication, negotiation, and consultation skills are second to none.
  • Adaptable and Resilient: You excel under pressure, juggling multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities with ease.

We are also open to candidates with a strong background in rollingstock.
