The Opportunity
“Diversifying Music in Australia: Gender Equity in Jazz and Improvisation” is an ARC funded grant lead by Associate Professor Rob Burke and this project aims to develop new knowledge in historical and contemporary practices of inclusion, exclusion and participation in order to identify the individual, collective and institutional facilitators and constraints on gendered participation. The project's significance lies not only in its contributions to the sector's policy and practice, but also its mentoring of an emerging generation of researchers.
The project currently has an exciting opportunity for a Post Doctoral Research Fellow to join their team for the next 3 years. The Post Doctoral Research Fellow will have experience and advanced skills in quantitative research methods: survey generation, administration and analysis . The candidate will also assist the team in project implementation and management tasks including submitting applications for ethical approval, managing survey implementation, generating some data in the field, managing the transcription of interviews, securing storage of data, analysing data, maintaining the website, preparing publications and literature reviews and organising the industry round table. Musical knowledge or training highly desirable.
