The Opportunity

Are you ready to advance your career in neuroscience research? Join our dynamic team and contribute to ground-breaking studies on stroke, heart disease, and dementia at Monash University.

As a Level A research-only academic, you'll play a pivotal role in improving our understanding of structural and functional brain changes associated with these conditions. Utilising cutting-edge clinical MRI datasets, including those from prestigious cohort studies like CANVAS and the TRAINSMART study, you'll perform sophisticated analyses to uncover new insights into brain health and disease.

Collaboration is at the heart of our work. You'll forge relationships with leading researchers at Monash and collaborating institutions nationwide and globally. Together, we'll share ideas, data sets, and expertise to drive high-quality manuscripts and grant applications.

Reporting to Professor and Lead Cognitive Health Initiative, you'll have the opportunity to develop your research expertise through defined projects relevant to your field. With access to state-of-the-art imaging equipment and datasets, including 3T MRI and innovative vascular and perfusion imaging, you'll have the tools you need to make meaningful contributions to the field.

Key responsibilities include conducting research under limited supervision, producing conference papers and publications, engaging in professional activities, and supporting the maintenance of imaging data pipelines. You'll also have the chance to mentor postgraduate students and collaborate with experts in biostatistics.

To excel in this role, you'll need a doctoral qualification in neuroscience, brain imaging, neuropsychology/psychology, or a related field. Strong analytical skills, a track record of research publications, and proficiency in neuroimaging analytical suites such as FSL, FreeSurfer, and SPM are essential.

If you're passionate about advancing our understanding of the brain and ready to make a difference in the field of neuroscience, we want to hear from you. Apply now to join our innovative team at Monash University and be part of shaping the future of brain research.
