The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented Research Officer to join the Monash Proteomics & Metabolomics Platform. In this role, you will provide high-quality research services and play a key role in delivering proteomic, metabolomic, and lipidomic experiments. Your responsibilities include sample preparation, equipment maintenance, workflow automation using robotics and liquid handling systems, and implementing innovative sample preparation techniques.

Key responsibilities include planning, implementing, and coordinating a range of research tasks such as scheduling bookings, administering trials, data analysis, and preparing reports. You'll work closely with MPMP staff and clients to understand research needs and operate efficiently within research protocols and standards.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Degree in a relevant field with relevant experience or equivalent training/education
  • Experience working with proteins, lipids, and/or metabolites, including sample preparation and mass spectrometry
  • Proficiency in operating robotics and liquid handling systems
  • Strong analytical, technical, and data analysis skills
  • Excellent organizational and project coordination skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience with advanced technologies and the ability to quickly learn new systems
