The Organisation

Monash University Library is one of Australia’s leading academic libraries. Central to our 2020-2025 strategy is the vision of being a ‘modern, global top ranked library’ where our content, collections, facilities, services and culture represent best practice and collectively make a significant contribution to the University’s reputation and impact. We continually evaluate what we do in relation to the University’s goals and always look ‘through our users’ eyes’. While we work to ensure that our users’ experiences with the Library are productive, useful, efficient and rewarding, we aspire to delight by exceeding their expectations. The Opportunity

Do you enjoy working with academics and being their first point of contact? Would you like to build on your publications expertise and take on responsibility for faculty research outputs collections? If you can combine excellent customer service with a passion for publications classification and data management, we welcome your application.

Our team has a strong service focus and takes pride in creating genuine collaborations with our partner faculties. As the Research Publications Coordinator, you will represent our team and liaise with academic and professional staff, providing authoritative advice on policy and process and solving daily challenges to ensure that data collection proceeds smoothly. You will be responsible for coordinating the collection of faculty research outputs for internal and government reporting purposes and will provide regular progress reports and analysis to faculties, departments and schools on the profile of the Faculty collection.

As part of your role, you will continually identify and develop methods to improve the collection process and modify it in response to changes in government specification, University procedure and business need.

You will be comfortable working across a number of organisational units, and committed to our model of service delivery. This is a great opportunity for you to extend your skills and knowledge within a small team, and take on responsibility for an end-to-end process, under the leadership and guidance of your team lead and your manager.

Ideally, you will have a degree qualification with experience in the provision of research services, or an equivalent, alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths at Monash. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with disabilities, neurodiverse people, and people of all genders, sexualities, and age groups.

Be part of our story. Work with us to #ChangeIt.

Monash avidly supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements. We have a range of policies in place enabling staff to combine work and personal commitments. This includes supporting parents.

Your employment is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of all pre-employment and/or background checks required for the role, as determined by the University.
