The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the commercialisation and advancing translation at Monash University.
The Senior Commercialisation Manager, Life Sciences is a pivotal role within Monash Innovation and manages a portfolio of commercialisation activities in life sciences, derived from intellectual property (IP) developed at Monash University. This position will work closely with staff across the University to identify, assess, protect, and commercialise IP through licensing to companies and creating new spinouts.
In this position, you will collaborate with our research community, providing pragmatic advice on IP as a tradeable, monetizable asset and explore commercial opportunities for the IP in both local and global markets. You will make informed recommendations on the commercialisation strategy, and implement these plans, ensuring the successful translation of Monash IP into impactful commercial ventures. Your expertise will be crucial in securing deals and overseeing negotiations to enhance the impact of our research innovations.
As a senior member of the Monash Innovation team, you will bring a deep understanding of identifying and partnering life science commercial opportunities, along with experience in IP strategy and securing licensing deals, and establishing spinouts from a research institution. In addition, you will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills in order to build and manage networks and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, in a commercial context.
