The Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering at Monash University, renowned for world-class teaching and cutting-edge research, is recruiting multiple Level A and Level B Education-Focused Academics in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

In these dynamic roles, you'll lead innovative teaching in Mechanical, Aerospace, and Robotics programs, design cutting-edge educational resources, and contribute to transformative research in teaching and learning. These positions are perfect for educators passionate about creating inclusive, student-centred learning environments and driving pedagogical excellence.

Education-focused academic staff at Monash are an elite category of our workforce who focus on and contribute to pedagogical innovation and lead the design and delivery of education at the University.

Level A Assistant Lecturer- Education Focused: Focuses on delivering and supporting teaching activities (e.g. workshops and laboratories), fostering inclusive learning environments, and contributing to curriculum development under guidance. They engage in scholarly research and undertake administrative tasks with growing autonomy as experience increases.

Level B Lecturer -Education Focused:  Builds on Level A responsibilities with leadership in teaching and curriculum design, implementing diverse assessments, and innovating teaching practices. They supervise students, lead teams in marking and feedback practices, and contribute to strategic initiatives. Level B lecturers - Education focused engage in advanced scholarly research and take a proactive role in improving departmental and cross-campus educational initiatives.

While Level A emphasises foundational teaching and support, Level B includes leadership, strategic impact, and advanced educational innovation.
