The Opportunity
The Faculty of Information Technology is looking for a Level A Academic Research Fellow to contribute to an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project. This collaborative initiative between Monash University’s SensiLab and RMIT University’s Tectonic Formation Lab aims to develop new design methodologies that control the spontaneous dynamics of emergent systems with the guidance of artificial intelligence techniques. The project will develop novel design processes that embed material behaviour within agent-based and machine learning computational design systems.
The expected outcomes of this project include new design knowledge demonstrated through architectural and design prototypes that fuse computational design, robotic craftsmanship, and biomaterials.
The successful candidate will have strong research experience in computational design and artificial intelligence. An interest in emerging creative design practice is also highly favourable.
If you are excited about the opportunity to be part of a pioneering research project at the intersection of design, artificial intelligence, and material behaviour then apply today!
