The Opportunity
This Research Fellow position offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative project aimed at improving care for rural cancer patients prescribed oral anti-cancer medicines (OAMs). The role focuses on developing practical tools and processes to strengthen medication education and supportive care. Grounded in health literacy, cultural safety and co-design principles, the research involves working closely with rural cancer patients, First Nations people, carers and healthcare providers to identify barriers to OAM use and develop and test practical solutions.
The position involves a diverse range of research activities, including participant liaison and recruitment, data collection and analysis and coordination of co-design workshops. It also requires preparation of study protocols, ethics applications and project reports, as well as active participation in project meetings and engagement with advisory panels. The Research Fellow will contribute to the dissemination of findings through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations, supporting the translation of research into practice.
We are seeking someone with an honours degree or higher qualifications such as progress towards a doctorate or have equivalent qualifications or research experience. The role requires strong analytical and manuscript preparation skills and experience working with people with chronic conditions, healthcare professionals and health service managers. An understanding of culturally safe practice, particularly in communicating with and delivering health services to First Nations Australians is also desirable.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a meaningful and collaborative research initiative—apply now to join a team committed to making a real impact in cancer care.
