The Opportunity
Monash University is seeking a dynamic and driven Interim Chief Operating Officer to help lead the strategic management of operations of the Australia-Indonesia Centre. Working closely with the Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in fostering collaborations with key stakeholders, both within and beyond Monash, to build alliances and secure funding opportunities, as well as leading the delivery of PAIR Sulawesi - a $12 million, four-year bilateral initiative overseeing research guidelines, implementation, evaluation, and risk management while strengthening networks with university partners to drive spin-off and scale-up funding initiatives.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven capability in leading operational excellence, with extensive experience overseeing budget, financial and resource planning to drive institutional efficiency and achieve organisational objectives
- A track record of executive-level leadership, with proven success in managing staff development, performance, resource allocation and strategic outcomes within complex institutions
- Deep experience building and maintaining partnerships with senior university leadership, government stakeholders, legal and finance teams across international education and research settings
- Strong governance and stakeholder engagement capability, demonstrated through leadership of high-level advisory boards, government committees and multi-university consortia
- Demonstrated ability to identify and secure new funding and program grants, ensuring financial sustainability and scaling initiatives for long-term impact
