The Opportunity
Are you interested in turning world-class research into real-world solutions? Monash Innovation is seeking a Commercialisation Associate – Life Sciences to help us to translate cutting-edge discoveries into impactful technologies across medicine, pharmaceutical science, therapeutics, and digital health.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with leading researchers and industry partners to advance innovations from the lab to market. You’ll conduct due diligence across technical, regulatory, and market landscapes, help identify commercial opportunities and partners, and support licensing and investment transactions. Over time, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of life sciences technologies, managing their progression from initial disclosure to commercial outcomes.
What you’ll do:
- Assess Monash researchers’ inventions for IP strength and commercial potential.
- Develop strategic marketing materials and technical summaries.
- Engage with industry partners and investors to explore research translation opportunities.
- Provide guidance on IP strategy and support commercial aspects of funding applications.
- Assist licensing negotiations and draft agreements in collaboration with cross functional teams.
- Champion a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across the Monash research community.
To succeed you’ll need:
- A postgraduate qualification (or progress toward one) in medicine, biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences.
- Strong technical expertise in life sciences and a solid grasp of IP principles.
- Experience in technology commercialisation and stakeholder engagement.
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
