The Opportunity

Monash University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking a talented Research Fellow to join the Drug Delivery Disposition and Dynamics (D4) group in an ARC-funded postdoctoral position, delivered in close partnership with Fonterra.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to investigate the biological behaviour of lipid-based nutritional delivery systems, focusing on the compositional and functional biointerfaces of emulsions in physiological fluids, and their interactions with biological surfaces, especially the gastrointestinal tract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Study lipid–protein–polysaccharide interfaces in complex biological media
  • Conduct research involving cell culture, bacteriology, and compositional analysis
  • Develop and optimise equipment and methods for analysing interface composition and cell interactions
  • Perform quantitative analysis of particle–cell interactions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external infrastructure platforms

What you will bring

  • Expertise in cell culture, microbiology, or bacteriology
  • Experience in biochemical or biophysical characterisation of emulsions or delivery systems
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research
  • Strong initiative and ability to engage across academic and industry domains

This is a unique opportunity to work at the interface of academic research and industry innovation in a world-leading Pharmaceutical Sciences Faculty.
